The Brilliance of Smartstuff: Children’s Furniture That Makes the Grade

When it comes to children’s bedroom furniture, most parents are asking for a lot. We want our kids to have a safe and comfortable place to sleep, of course. But we also want plenty of storage. And quality construction. And safety features. Adding smart technology solutions seems like a little too much to ask, but Smartstuff™ has that covered, too.

Discerning the Smartstuff™ Particulars

While many of the Collections include styling that hints at bygone eras, they’re practical for modern use by real kids, just like yours, with safety and convenience in mind.

For example, most night stands and some beds have built-in, touch-activated lighting, and night stands have patented built-in charging stations. Potential safety hazards are avoided with the cord-management system, anti-tip restraint hardware, metal bolts, lead-free finishes, adjustable levelers, and softened corners and edges.

Drawers are built to last and tested through 50,000 cycles; they utilize soft, self-closing, full-extension metal-on-metal drawer guides and have 9/16” walls and front and back English dovetailing construction.

Determining Your Child’s Proclivities

Coming in both painted and stained finishes, the options are many. From the delicate beauty of the Gabriella Collection or the graceful lines of the Bellamy Collection to the sturdy brawn of the Paula Deen Guys Collection, you can find something to suit both feminine and masculine design. If you’d prefer more flexible, gender-neutral design, the Classics 4.0 Collection or the Black & White Collection might be good choices.

Deciding on the Individual Pieces

Each Collection comes with its own set of pieces, and if you’re torn on which style you like best, you may want to take a look through the individual catalogs before you decide. Most come with at least 2 or 3 styles of Beds, available in both Twin and Full sizes, as well as Bunk Beds.

Both Storage Units and Trundles can be installed on either the left or the right side of a bed, Trundles include wheels to accommodate easy pull-out, as well as removable sliding storage trays.

Once you get past the type of bed, you’ll want to look at the wide assortment of storage pieces, ranging from Night Stands to Dressers, Desks, and Bookcases. Many of those pieces include hidden storage and flip-down trays ideal for gaming systems or other technology. Some include optional added elements like Storage or Tilt Mirrors, matching Stools or Chairs, and Hutches.

As you decide on the Smartstuff™ Collection and individual pieces that suit your child’s and your family’s needs, you can be sure that whatever choice you make, you’ll get an A+.
