Swimming Pool Additions: All About Climbing Walls

Last updated on February 8, 2018 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Perhaps when you think about pool activities and accessories, mountain climbing is about the furthest thing from your mind. But think about it: what goes up, must come down! And what better way to land than in the refreshing waters of your backyard swimming pool. Kids and adults will appreciate the challenge of the climb as well as the competition potential. Some of these pool-friendly climbing walls are intended for children, while others are appropriate for teens and adults as well. Some are inflatable, while others are more permanent. With all the swimming pool climbing structures available, we think you’ll be sure to find one that fits well for your crew.

Inflatable Iceberg

Able to float in either a large pool or a lake, this inflatable combines a climbing wall with a water slide! It measures over 7 feet by 10 feet by 7 feet, offering plenty of space for multiple people of all ages to enjoy it together. The Inflatable Iceberg comes with a CE/UL air blower, PVC carry bag, and repair kit. The Inflatable Iceberg can be purchased on Amazon.

Inflatable Iceberg Mountain

If the Inflatable Iceberg looks great but isn’t quite large or challenging enough for your crew, perhaps the Inflatable Iceberg Mountain is more your speed. Made from 0.9mm PVC, this heavy duty inflatable will be sure to offer plenty of added entertainment value to your next pool party or family night! Measuring 20 feet by 14 feet by 14 feet, this mammoth floatable also includes a CE/UL air blower, PVC carry bag, and repair kit. The inflatable iceberg mountain can be purchased through Amazon.

Aquaclimb Modular Climbing Walls

Aquaclimb has taken the pool climbing wall to an entirely new level. The Classic Line from Aquaclimb offers a customizable, modular design that includes your choice of panel type and height options. These commercial-grade climbing walls allow panels to be rotated and moved in order to re-create the climbing experience, providing absolutely no excuse for boredom. The vertical structures allow you to add more panels later on in order to expand your climbing wall as well.

Check out the video below!

The climbing walls are made from 304L stainless steel and have an epoxy coating for wipe-clean surfaces. Aquaclimb walls have also been tested to be able to withstand 100 mph winds. These pre-assembled units are delivered already assembled and ready for installation (see video below) requiring minimal tools by the maintenance professional or local contractor of your choice.

As you consider adding a climbing wall to your backyard swimming pool, you should be aware that climbing walls aren’t all fun and games! The benefits include increasing coordination and balance as well as muscular strength and even increasing fine motor skills in some children. Personal skills such as patience and problem-solving can also be improved through rock climbing. And what safer place to offer your family those benefits than above the soft, refreshing water of your pool?
