One Gym’s Experience with Payroll through Jackrabbit

Last updated on October 2, 2017 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

If you’re running a gymnastics studio, it’s probably in large part because you love gymnastics! You also delight in your customers and the camaraderie with your instructors. But the reality may fall short of allowing you the time and energy to focus on those aspects of your gym. Well, Jackrabbit software has an impressive amount of features — especially for the price point—  along with outstanding ongoing support.

Among the many benefits of Jackrabbit, Jon Aardema of Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta especially appreciates two features relating to employee payment: ExpressPayroll and Time Clock.

Integration

The integration with ExpressPayroll feature allows you as the employer to stop worrying about withholding taxes and end-of-year tax forms; essentially, ExpressPayroll does the hard work for you. From the employee’s perspective, the benefits include dependability, accuracy, and timeliness in getting paid. It’s truly a win-win. The intuitive design of the Jackrabbit Time Clock feature allows you to easily get started, setting up appropriate details based on the number of various hourly rates and employee types with which you work. Like all Jackrabbit features, the mobile-friendly and web-based Time Clock program allows plenty of flexibility in clocking work hours.

Here’s what Jon Aardema says about Jackrabbit’s intuitive, flexible design: “Obviously all of our gyms don’t operate in the same way so being able to fit the system around the tracking and payment needs that your organization and your employees demand is critical. It’s so straightforward and simple that both groups ‘get it’ in a heartbeat.”

Transition

Both Jon and his staff at Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta once used time sheets tracked through a basic spreadsheet program. And that worked, for a time. But as their gym grew to include more staff members, the process Jon had been using for payroll became too time consuming to continue. Here’s how Jon explains the benefits of changing over to Jackrabbit & ExpressPayroll for his gym’s timeclock needs:

“The integrated process puts Jackrabbit’s Time Clock in charge of time management and turns the time entry process into an employee implemented one. The Time Clock allows me to simply check and approve time entries. Hourly ‘budgets’ are set so that I immediately know when enough or too few hours have been worked. I can even email the employee about the discrepancies directly from the interface. The entire process is quite magical!”

As if the daily and weekly benefits aren’t enough, the end-of-year features make filing taxes virtually painless. Here’s how Jon describes the benefits of that: “I can rest easy in knowing that this critical component is taken care of by those whose understand the laws, the requirements and the forms.”

Employee’s Standpoint

Jon’s employees also benefit from his switching over. They can easily access their own payroll accounts to not only input their work time but also to print pay stubs or end-of-year earnings statements without having to interrupt Jon or another staff member. And you can imagine how helpful it is for the office staff not to have to field such requests!
