FAQs About Home Security with SecuriLINK

SC1200 X10 SecuriLINK Security Console

One of our best-selling X10 products at X10.com is the SC1200 SecuriLINK Security Console, and we don’t think it’s a mystery why so many people love this item! While it can also be purchased in any of 8 different kits, it can now also be purchased separately! If you already have an existing X10 security system in place or own X10 security modules, you’ll find that SecuriLINK coordinates seamlessly with any X10 Motion Detectors (MS18A), PowerHorns, Keychain Security Remotes (KR32A), or Door/Window Sensors (DS12A). You can custom-build your own personal security system by combining your SC1200 SecuriLINK Console with any number of home automation and security modules, extending the reach of your SecuriLINK security.

What Sets SecuriLINK Apart?

The X10 SecuriLINK Home Security System is truly a cut above other security systems, making it the premier security system that includes no monthly fees. Yes, you read that correctly: With X10, you’ll never have to sign a contract. All you have to do is purchase the Console and other X10 modules, install them properly, and make sure to pay your phone bill. When you combine the low price of the SC1200 SecuriLINK Console with integration with existing X10 Home Automation, you allow it to reach its full potential.

How Does SecuriLINK Work?

The SC1200 SecuriLINK Console is the foundation piece of any SecuriLINK Home Security System. After completing setup of the SC1200, the console will be set up to respond to the triggers to which you’ve programmed it to respond. Upon being triggered, the SC1200 will respond by flashing your home’s lights and sounding its 95 decibel siren (compare that to a home stereo on full blast). Those responses will likely be enough to deter any would-be intruders, but the SC1200 does even more. It activates a voice dialer system.

How Does the Voice Dialer System Work?

Once the SC1200 has been triggered, the voice dialer system calls your number first. In the situation that you aren’t able to answer, it will call five additional numbers with which you’ve programmed it, in succession until someone answers. When someone picks up, that person will hear a message you previously recorded to let them know that your security system has identified a potential burglary and informing the person that if they press any key on a touchtone phone, they will be able to listen in on your home. By listening in, you or a friend, relative, or neighbor will be able to determine whether the alarm was accidentally tripped or there is a true emergency.

Additional components of the SecuriLINK Home Security System will be discussed in future posts, as will inclusive Home Security kits available from X10 that allow you to save costs when you purchase a bundle of X10 home security and home automation products.
