Bargain Shopping is the Name of the Game

Last updated on October 17, 2008 by Sozo Staff

Shopping is always a fun activity for a dreary day.  I enjoy going to a variety of stores.  Of course there is Walmart and Target where I can get the basics of most things I need.  I go to these stores quite often to try and get the necessary household items at a reasonable price.  Items such as diapers, cleaners, and even some food are very reasonably priced there.

It’s always nice to go to those kinds of stores just because it gets me out of the house, but I can’t say that those are my favorite shopping spots.  They tend to be crowded (Walmart especially) and just not as fun.  I’m a bargain shopper and although I can definitely find bargains at these stores sometimes, it’s just not quite as fun as some other stores.

One place I’ve found in York, PA that I like to go to is the Christmas Tree Shops.  I put off going to this store at first because it wasn’t Christmas time and the last thing I really wanted to look at was Christmas stuff.  I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I finally ventured in the store and found all kinds of neat bargains.  This is one of those stores where you never know exactly what you’ll find.  There are so many neat items but yet it’s a nice clean store that doesn’t look like a trash pile.  One thing I will note about the store, if you find something you like, get it, it may not be there when you come back.  I’ve experienced this a few too many times!

Another store I’m just getting to know is Tuesday Morning.  I was in this store a year ago and then totally forgot about it until this week.  I had about 10 minutes to waste before a doctor’s appointment so my youngest and I popped in there.  I’m not sure how I forgot about this store.  I really want to get back there and spend some time before too long.  They seem to have some really neat deals.

A little bunny trail here, but have you ever taken note of the variety of surveillance cameras in these sorts of stores?  Sometimes I wonder if they really work (not that I’m going to try anything, I just wonder if they really make enough at these stores to afford high tech surveillance.)  Anyway, I actually found a site today that sells a ISC200 Outdoor Imitation Security Camera with Blinking LED and ISC100 Indoor Imitation Security Camera with Motion Detection and Blinking LED.  I never actually saw where a normal person could buy these sort of things, makes a body wonder all the more when they see those cameras!

As you can tell, bargain hunting is a fun adventure for me.  I think I’ll use some future posts to highlight some of my other favorite spots.  There really are a lot of neat stores out there, you just have to take the time to explore them and see what they might have.
